The line graph gives information about how many library books pupils read at Starmouth School library over a 4-year period. Overall, there was a strong upward trend in the number of books read by girls and boys. The number of books read by girls increased steadily between 2009 and 2010, from about 25 to 40. In the following year, there was a sharp rise of exactly 60 in the number of books that female students read. The figure continued to go up and reached a peak of 140 books in 2012. In 2009, boys read more books than girls, at around 50. In the following year, there was an increase of 50 to 80 books that boys read in 2010, which doubled the figure for girls. In 2011, the number of books read by boys gradually rose to 100 books, which was the highest figure in the period. However, in 2012, their numbers fell back to 80 again.

The graph gives information about unemployment among college graduates and high-school leavers between 2000 and 2010. Overall, there was an upward trend in unemployment rates for young students. The difference between school leavers and graduates became much greater towards the end of the period.
In 2000, 1.5% of graduates and 3% of school leavers did not have a job. Between 2000 and 2003, the figure rose to 3 and 5.5% respectively. The number of unemployed high-school leavers decreased by 1.5% in 2006 and then remained stable for a year. Similarly, the number of graduates without jobs declined slightly from less than 3% in 2004 to exactly 2% in 2007.
Since 2007, the percentage of unemployed high-school leavers rose dramatically and reached the highest point of 10% in 2010. During the same year, the figure for college graduates decreased to exactly 4% after reaching a peak of about 4.5% in 2009.

Essay:
The line graph gives information about the amount of spread consumption between 1981 and 2007. Overall, the consumption of butter and margarine decreased significantly, and the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads increased greatly.
Butter was the most popular fat at the beginning of the period, and consumption reached a peak of about 160 grams in 1986. After this, there was a sharp decline, and butter consumption reached the lowest point of around 50 grams in 2007. The consumption of margarine began lower than that of butter, at 90 grams. Following this, in 1991, it stood at exactly 100 grams, the same as butter. After 1996, margarine consumption also decreased gradually and was the lowest in 2007, at 40 grams.
Low–fat spreads were introduced in 1996. In the next 11 years, their consumption rose sharply to reach a peak of more than 80 grams in 2001 and then declined slightly to roughly 70 grams in the year 2007.

The line graph gives information about the number of complaints sent to an airline’s complaints department from January to June in the year 2009. Overall, the number of complaints sent in person and by telephone increased, while the opposite trend was true for those sent by email or fax.
The number of complaints sent directly to the department in January was slightly more than 400. This figure was the lowest throughout the period. This figure then increased rapidly over the next months and reached the highest point of about 1900 complaints in June. The number of complaints received by telephone dropped slightly in the first two months, from 900 in January to 800 in February. This figure remained unchanged at slightly more than 1000 from March to April, then went up considerably to 1600 complaints in June.
The number of complaints sent by email or fax was the highest in January, at nearly 800. This figure was quite stable in the first quarter. This fell to just under 400 complaints in May and stayed unchanged in the last 2 months.
